The Story of the UnbearableTruth
- "Once upon a time there was a lie. Gorgeous, luxurious and proud, she walked the streets of cities and sought the company of men. On a street corner stood the Truth. Modest and simple. Gentle and loving. People passed him in awe, but no one took any notice, though true beauty shone in his eyes. Yet he remained to wait with patience, hope and forbearance.
The lie sought friends and a home. Such pride to be alone? He was desperate to win people. And because she was cunning she often managed to sit on their arm. Some would gladly invite her into their homes, even let her into their thoughts and souls, and she promised to bring them many satisfactions. Many fell spellbound at her feet and came to worship her. But it wasn't long before they noticed that they were lonely because of her. That their loved ones had drifted away, that they had lost trust, love and friendship. That she has brought them only transient and worthless possessions. And they called her to account. But she treated them with indifference.
And then they thought of going to the Truth that had been waiting for them for so long. And they brought the lie before him to ask his forgiveness:
-Dear Truth, I have brought you the lie to punish it or if you have the strength to forgive it.

 Truth sighed deeply and answered them:
-I have forgiven you, for the lie was not to be forgiven. But you who have left it in your thoughts, in your souls and in your homes.
The men insisted that it was the lie that had tempted them and that she must ask for forgiveness, and they told her so:
-Preach the Truth and ask her forgiveness for what you have done to us.
But the Truth explained to them:
-It is not the lie that has destroyed you, but your choice. You can always find me in you. Do not abandon me any longer. I am love, forgiveness, hope and faith.
Truth cannot be covered up, only uncovered. .
